Families Together
Families Together is a voluntary family preservation program funded by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) that supports families with children and young people aged 0–17 years who may be experiencing challenges that impact family wellbeing. The program aims to strengthen family relationships, build parenting confidence, and improve outcomes for children by working alongside families to achieve their goals.
Families Together is overseen by the Consortium of Neighbourhood Centres (CONC) and delivered locally by Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre (MRNC). Our experienced team provides practical, strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally safe support tailored to each family’s unique circumstances. We are committed to creating an environment where all families feel respected, valued and supported, and where cultural identity, strengths and connections are recognised and celebrated.
We work with families in family homes, communities and other environments where families feel comfortable, offering flexible support for up to 12 months. Together, we focus on building safety, resilience, connection and long-term positive change for children and families.
MRNC delivers Families Together across the Tweed, Byron and Ballina Shires, and the Clarence Valley.

- Mullumbimby – Mullumbimby and District Neighbourhood Centre
- Ballina – Ballina Office
- Evans Head – Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre
- Grafton – The New School of Arts Neighbourhood House
These locations enable our team to provide flexible, accessible support to families throughout the region.
Families can be referred to the program through DCJ and participating referral pathways, and participation in the program is always voluntary.
